7 things you should do to protect yourself from accidents during severe weather conditions:

  1. Avoid having to go out of the house if necessary.
  2. If there is an absolute need to go out, make sure you bring the necessary safety gadgets like a sturdy umbrella, raincoat and head gear to keep your face shield and face mask in place.
  3. Leptospirosis will once more be on the rise so wear rubber boots to keep your feet from getting wet in flooded areas.  Wash your feet as soon as you arrive your destinations to ensure safety.
  4. For those who need to drive, check to make sure that your windshield wiper is working well.
  5. For those at home, close windows that may be the cause of rainwater coming inside the house and also prevent window glass from breaking because of the strong rains.
  6. Now is the time to check for roof leakages that may be the source of water damage.
  7. If power gets cut off, use your flashlight.  Avoid candles as it may cause fire.

Always be prepared.  Always insure your home and your car so you do not get adversely affected by unforeseen damages to your property.
