How to File a Car Insurance or Motor claim

Filing a car insurance or motorcar claim does not have to be complicated. In fact, it only has four distinct steps to get it done.  In Standard Insurance, these are the steps you need to take.

Step 1. Take Photo of Documents

  1. Certificate of Registration (CR) and official receipt (OR) of CR covering loss date.
  2. Driver’s license and official receipt.
  3. Filled-out Motor Accident Report Form (MARF), Affidavit or Police report (if with third party).

Step 2: Take photo of the damaged unit

  1. Full body of the unit (with plate number/conduction sticker or VIN plate).
  2. Angles showing damage/s on the unit.
  3. Odometer reading.

Step 3: Go to Standard Insurance Website

  1. Go to their online page for claims here.
  2. Upload gathered photos and documents

Step 4:  Receive SMS notification or a call

  • If your unit needs an actual inspection
  • Status of your claim
  • Issuance of Letter of Authority (LOA) to have your vehicle repaired.

You can then bring your vehicle to the selected repair shop of your choice and once the repairs are completed, you last job is to sign the Quit Claim which Standard Insurance or the repair shop will ask you to fill up. That's it!
